Abstract

Life expectancy is an important indicator for measuring the economic development level of a country or region. This study uses multiple linear regression to analyze the factors influencing life expectancy across different regions of China. The research finds that altitude, distance from the nearest coastline, hospital beds per 1000 people, per capita education expenditure, sulfur dioxide emissions, and the proportion of urban population all have varying degrees of impact on life expectancy in China’s regions. Corresponding policy recommendations are also proposed.
