Editorial Board Responsibilities
Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief is a champion of the journal and their discipline. They supervise journal activities, ensuring scientific quality and development. The initial term is for 2 years.
Key Responsibilities:- Acting as ambassador for the journal, Pinnacle Press, and Open Access publishing.
- Making scientific decisions regarding the journal's scope.
- Inviting distinguished scientists to join the Editorial Board.
- Suggesting topics for Special Issues.
- Providing support to Section Editors-in-Chief and Editorial Staff.
- Maintaining oversight of the editorial process and making final publication decisions.
- Upholding peer review guidelines and ethics.
- Chairing the annual Editorial Board Meeting.
Editorial Board Member
Board Members are responsible for final decisions on manuscripts in their field, editing Special Issues, and reviewing manuscripts. The initial term is for 2 years.
Key Responsibilities:- Pre-screen and take decisions on new submissions related to their research interests.
- Set up or supervise at least 1 Special Issue during their term.
- Help attract expert authors and invite young scholars to the Early Career Board.
- Provide input on journal policies and development strategies.
- Promote the journal at conferences and among peers.
- Review manuscripts or identify suitable reviewers.
Supporting Editor Responsibilities
Guest Editor
Crucial for curating Special Issues and enabling global collaboration. They oversee peer review and ensure content quality.
- Special Issue Planning: Prepare title, aim & scope, and keywords.
- Contributor Selection: Compile potential contributors and invite esteemed scholars.
- Peer-Review Management: Pre-screen submissions, supervise review, and make final decisions.
- Promotion: Promote the Special Issue on social media and conferences.
Topic Editor
Pivotal in managing Topics for cross-disciplinary collaboration. They ensure quality and relevance of content within their Topic.
- Topic Planning: Prepare title, aim & scope, ensuring coherence with journal objectives.
- Contributor Selection: Engage experts from relevant research areas to submit.
- Peer-Review Management: Pre-screen and supervise review processes for all submissions.
- Promotion: Raise awareness and encourage contributions via various platforms.
